The Antipsychotics and Dementia Discussion Guide includes 3 tools that provide best practices for assessing and managing patient care, with a particular focus on the use of antipsychotics. The Use of Antipsychotics in Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) Discussion Guides are presented for a range of audiences: primary care, long-term care, and resident, family, and caregiver. The guides will help you identify non-drug therapies, when and how to initiate drug therapy when appropriate, the ability to discuss and document behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and understand the benefits and harms of using antipsychotics.
