To maintain excellence in patient care, family physicians have a life-long commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) to stay current and aware of medical advances, trends and updates in health care delivery. The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) provides this CPD through the Mainpro+® (Maintenance of Proficiency) credit system, to support physicians as they earn, document and track their CPD credits.

Mainpro+ serves three key functions:

  • Provide CPD participation guidelines and standards for Canadian family physicians
  • Enable family physicians to conveniently track and monitor their CPD participation
  • Ensure high-quality, ethical CPD programming through a rigorous, peer-reviewed certification process

To learn more about Mainpro+ requirements, visit Mainpro+ Overview on the CFPC's website.
