How could you benefit from this program?
Primary Care Networks have been forming across the province, serving as a vehicle for family physicians to:
- Have a unified voice for physicians and influence local decision making
- Enhance information sharing and foster strong relationships among physicians to support changes in health-care delivery
- Ensure physicians representation at OHT leadership tables
- Contribute to working groups and implementation of OHTs
This program, Primary Care Networks – Getting Started has been created by the OCFP, in partnership with the Association of Family Health Teams (AFHTO), Ontario Medical Association (OMA) and Section on General Family Practice (SGFP). It provides supports for physician’s networks to host discussions on the engagement and development of physician networks.
This program has been approved for Mainpro+ certification. We want to ensure our members can claim appropriate certified credits for time spent in these interactive and collaborative programs. This program Primary Care Networks – Getting Started will support these initial steps.
“To have a truly integrated local health system that results in best possible patient outcomes, collaboration among all physicians is necessary, but first you need to engage them in a meaningful way.”
~ Dr. Amy Catania, Family Doctor, Hills of Headwaters OHT

Contact our office at [email protected] and we will assist your Primary Care network to offer certification.
While this program will support initial steps, we also know that many Primary Care Networks already exist and offer exceptional applied learning opportunities. We want to support family physicians participating in these discussions to earn certified Mainpro+ credits. Please contact us for guidance on submitting a local application for your ongoing work.
