FEE: $250 plus HST

This program has received funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of the Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy.

Do you want to improve your confidence in screening, diagnosing, and optimizing care for patients with osteoporosis, including those with moderate risk? Through small-group discussions and case analysis, Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention addresses key issues - including osteoporosis-related fractures, secondary causes and current care gaps - and examines pharmacological treatment options, opportunities for non-pharmacological treatment, and drug holidays.

Learning Objectives

  • After active engagement in this program, participants will be better able to:
  • Recognize the current care gap in osteoporosis fracture care including barriers and facilitators of quality care
  • Recognize and describe the impact of osteoporotic fracture
  • Apply a selective evidence-based approach to bone mineral density testing
  • Assess and apply pharmacology and non-pharmacology strategies for patients at high risk of fractures
  • Describe risks and benefits of treatment options to support shared decision making with patients and provide patients with guidance about osteoporosis management by linking them with resources for self-management

You must complete all Pre-Course and Post-Course activities and attend the full workshop to receive the associated Group Learning credits for the program.

Thank you for your interest.  Currently, this program is not available by request.
