Credits

This three-credits-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 9.0 Mainpro+® credits.

FEE: $300 plus HST

For your adolescent and young adult patients who use alcohol and drugs, the most appropriate interventions, treatments and referral pathways must take into account the risk levels associated with the patient’s substance use. This program offers practical screening tools and methods, and helps develop skills for the complexities of this care within a comprehensive primary care practice.

Learning Objectives

After active engagement in this program, participants will be better able to:

  • Identify and incorporate into practice screening tools for adolescent and youth alcohol and substance use.
  • Provide brief interventions for addressing low and higher risk alcohol and drug use.
  • Identify and translate into practice pharmacotherapy interventions appropriate to primary care.
  • Identify treatment and referral pathways for youth with alcohol and drug use issues.

Requirements

You must complete all Pre-Course and Post-Course activities and attend the full workshop to receive the associated Group Learning credits for the program.
