Pediatric Preventive Care

Are you confident your approach to preventive care for younger patients reflects the best evidence and current state of practice?

Pediatric Preventive Care builds on the evidence-based Greig Health Record – endorsed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Canadian Paediatric Society – to offer current resources, recommendations and guidelines to apply in practice.

From obesity and concussions in school-aged children, to substance abuse, STIs and depression screening in adolescents, this highly interactive Group Learning workshop incorporates case-based scenarios, individual reflection and group work, and brings to life common pediatric and adolescent health challenges seen in family practice.

Learning Objectives

After active engagement in this program, participants will be better able to:

  • Describe up-to-date evidence-based preventive care recommendations for school-age children and adolescents.
  • Identify preventive care resources and patient information to use in clinical practice.
  • Screen for mental health issues, substance use and addictions and provide appropriate screening and counselling for the sexually active adolescent.
