Help us shine a spotlight on the outstanding work and accomplishments of Ontario’s family physicians by nominating a colleague for an OCFP Award.
The OCFP Awards honor the breadth of innovation and the diversity of practice within our membership. Every year, the OCFP recognizes family doctors making significant contributions to the wellbeing of their patients, communities and society, along with medical students and residents who are emerging leaders and advocates for the profession of family medicine.
The call for 2023 nominations has now closed.
This award recognizes the contributions of seven OCFP members – one from each Ontario Health region of the province – who provide exemplary comprehensive, lifelong care to their patients and make significant contributions to the health and wellbeing of their community and/or society in general.
As part of the adjudication process, one of the seven recipients will also be selected as the Reg L. Perkin Family Physician of the Year for Ontario, bestowed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
This award recognizes a resident who is an emerging leader and advocate for family medicine. To qualify, the nominee must be a family medicine resident enrolled at an Ontario university in the 2022-2023 academic year.
This award recognizes a medical student who is an emerging leader and advocate for family medicine. To qualify, applicants must be a student enrolled in an Ontario medical school in the 2022-2023 academic year and demonstrate a recognized interest in family medicine and/or primary care.
These awards recognize family doctors who (individually or as a team of two) have demonstrated an exceptional achievement within the past 24 months. The achievement can be an innovation, project or specific contribution that has had a positive impact on patients, communities or the profession of family medicine. Contributions not explicitly achieved within the past 24 months will not be considered.
