Dear Colleagues,
As family physicians, we love our clinical work, care deeply for patients and want to make a difference in our communities. But the current challenges in the system are taking the joy out of our work.
It’s not ok.
We need our government and our partners in health care to know this too.
I want you to know that the OCFP has your back. We are calling for meaningful changes to help family physicians today.
- The OMA will begin negotiations for the Physician Services Agreement and the OCFP has been providing input into the SGFP's work. More to come.
- The OCFP has been leading calls for all family doctors, regardless of payment model, to have access to team supports. The Ontario government is investing $30 million to support 18 new or existing teams. It's a start, but it's not enough. An Expression of Interest will be shared later this month.
- The OCFP will be sharing updates from a recent survey with members regarding the administrative burden we face in practice. More to come.
- Read our Advocacy Alert.
We know more needs to be done and we will continue to update you on the work we are doing to advocate on your behalf.
Below you will find information and tools to support you in your practice.

This project shares the personal stories of frontline health care workers through the pandemic. You can watch the video here, where I share my thoughts, feelings and challenges.
