Early Pregnancy Loss in the Emergency Department - Recommendations for the Provision of Compassionate Care

These recommendations have been created to guide the provision of compassionate care to patients with a confirmed early pregnancy loss (less than 20 weeks gestation) in an emergency department. They are intended to provide guidance to ED staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who provide care to this patient population. Family physicians may find useful the recommendations and resources for physical and emotional care for individuals experiencing an early pregnancy loss.
